SQL Database Architect (2020-9673)
Location: St. Louis, MA
Resposibilities:
Install and configure database servers
Design databases
Handle database maintenance tasks (backups/restores, updating statistics and rebuilding indexes)
Monitor database system resources and performance
Handle performance tuning
Perform database development tasks and batch scripting
Maintain system security and data integrity
Partner with application development teams to ensure optimal database operations
Research and recommend performance and operational enhancements to data platforms
Participate in a regular on-call rotation
Champion the company culture
Participate in code and design reviews
Participate in production code pushes
Required:
6-10 years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and higher
2-3 years managing a data warehouse or data lake database environment
Experience on the application development side of database administration -- working with developers to build new queries, tune old queries, and/or develop stored procedures and internal queries.
Knowledge of database administration tasks
Ability to understand large data models
Understanding of database design/architecture
Ability to debug and troubleshoot problems
Desired:
OLAP/SSAS experience
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or the equivalent
1 year of programming experience (e.g., VBScript, Java, .Net, shell script)
SSIS, ETL, and/or Power BI experience
Understanding of business logic
Experience with different database tools to manage daily tasks more efficiently
